| on 2.10.10 willie was taken to the mile 533 shipyard in aransas pass, texas for a 2 week stay. altho it had been 5 years since its last haulout, the bottom was in very good shape. several of the approx 20+ zincs were in 75% or better shape. it was the yard owner's opinion that the bottom did not need to be blasted, just cleaned up. in areas where the smaller zincs had been gobbled up, larger ones were placed, others were doubled up. it was hard for me to get an exact count, but there are now about 30 zincs under willie, of which about 22 are new, the others were in 75%+ shape. the old exhaust ports were welded up, the above waterline pits were welded and grinded smooth, the rear lift-up deck was removed and repaired along with other work. all receipts/work day sheets retained. the total was over 15k. one of the major things done was the install of a 1993 powertech 20K generator (kuboto motor) with 650 hours was put into place and will be tied into the boat's electrical systems in the near future. due to being out of memory for this website i am unable to post more than one picture, however i have many more and will add them when i figure out how. |
